BFL x New York Yankees

The New York Yankees...what could be more iconic, right? In conjunction with State Farm, the New York Yankees run a campaign called Good Neighbor of the Month where they honor a smaller, local person and/or organization that is doing good in their community. Our co-founder, Alexa, knew that Brett was just the person to nominate for this recognition. We received a call last week from the Yankees that Brett would be honored at the upcoming game. We received amazing seats in section 105...for those who don't know, that is first level between 1st and 2nd base and what a great view it was!

At the end of the 3rd inning, we were featured on the jumbotron where the announcer shared our story with the audience and some images of our work scrolled on the screen as well. At the end, there was a live shot of Brett and Alexa waving to the camera.

We are grateful for opportunities like these that allow us to share our mission with more people and continue to create awareness about the issues that veterans face. We are extremely grateful that the Yankees chose to highlight us during the game. Check out our feature below!

BFL x Hot Seat Warmers on Fox Business

We recently teamed up with another Verona, NJ business to continue serving our veterans. HotSeat Warmers recently donated their disposable seat warmers to one of our packing events. We immediately got in touch with them and we've been off to the races ever since! Hot Seat Warmers now features a special charity shop on their site where YOU can purchase seat warmers that will go directly into our backpacks!

HotSeat Warmers was recently featured on Building Business Icons, a Fox Business segment with Kevin Harrington, former shark from the hit TV series Shark Tank. Steve Baureis, founder of HotSeat Warmers, made a special mention to their work with BFL and our veterans. We were honored to be part of this great segment! Check it out below!

BFL x Times Square, NYC

Backpacks For Life was recently given a unique opportunity to showcase our work with veterans in need on one of the largest advertising platforms in the world...Times Square! With millions of people passing through each day, this was an incredible place to showcase our work and shed light on some of the veteran issues that many people may not know about.

With such a big project in our hands, we wanted to make sure that we were bringing the most important pieces of what we do to the big screen which included highlighting our work with Liquid Church, who donated over 2,000 backpacks to us this past fall.

We are running ads in times square for the next few months so be sure to keep your eyes peeled!

You can check out some great video footage from some of the creative team HERE.

Special thanks to all the creative geniuses behind these amazing pieces: Drew O'Brien Creative, Beard + Bowler and Liquid Church

BFL x 94.7 Nash Matters Show

Backpacks For Life went into NYC to speak about our cause on the 94.7 'Nash Matters' show which highlights programs and things going on in the local community. We got a chance to tell people Brett's story and also explain how we are connecting veterans with the crucial resources they need to get back on their feet.

BFL x 880 AM News

In May of 2015, Backpacks For Life attended the Liberty Lightning 9k, held at Liberty State Park in Jersey City. It wasn't the best day weather wise for a 9k but we ended up luckier than most!

By the end of the day, we had many visitors to our tent (some to stay dry) but others curious about what the big red tent was. In turn, we met a radio correspondent from the popular 880 AM news. He was reporting for Memorial Day Weekend and it was a perfect fit that our nonprofit was geared towards our service men and women.
