BFL x New York Yankees

As part of his pregame show, New York Yankees' manager Joe Gerardi, speaks on behalf of an organization before each game to highlight the great work that nonprofits and charities are doing. We were asked to send a T-Shirt to Joe which he would wear while speaking about what we do for veterans.

This pregame show was featured on YES Network so we were able to successfully reach a large audience to familiarize them with veterans who are at risk of becoming and are homeless. Watch the video HERE

As a result of Joe Gerardi's amazing nod to the incredible work going on with Backpacks For Life and the other charities he acknowledged, we were then contacted by a writer from the New York Times. The New York Times built an article surrounding both Gerardi and the charities for their work. We were honored to be featured as a result - you can read the New York Times Article here.

BFL x 880 AM News

In May of 2015, Backpacks For Life attended the Liberty Lightning 9k, held at Liberty State Park in Jersey City. It wasn't the best day weather wise for a 9k but we ended up luckier than most!

By the end of the day, we had many visitors to our tent (some to stay dry) but others curious about what the big red tent was. In turn, we met a radio correspondent from the popular 880 AM news. He was reporting for Memorial Day Weekend and it was a perfect fit that our nonprofit was geared towards our service men and women.
